1These are the words of the letter that Jeremiah the prophet sent from Jerusalem to the surviving elders of the exiles, and to the priests, the prophets, and all the people, whom Nebuchadnezzar had taken into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon
10’For thus says the Lord; When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place. 11For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil to give you a future and a hope. 12Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.‘
-Jeremiah 29:1, 10-13
It’s easy for me to forget how faithful God has been to me the past few months (my whole life actually, just especially the last few months, or I’ve noticed it more the past few months). When hard times come and the future is uncertain, it’s easy to complain and ask God what the heck He is doing, because if I had it my way, things would be different right now.
God knows what he’s doing, and these verses fill me with a lot of hope because He never deserted Israel, His people. Likewise, He will never leave me.
