California, here I came

A little bit of my past few days: I flew in to San Diego and my friend Stephanie picked me up from the airport and then took me to her house to spend the night. Friday morning we got up and drove to Murrieta for the rehearsal dinner (actually lunch) of our friend Audie. After lunch, we went to pick up Audie’s dress, got a few things at Target, then went back and relaxed for the rest of the day/night at Audie’s house. I was amazed how relaxed she was the day before her wedding!! It was nice for me to relax and spend time with friends that I won’t see for a while. Also, we had In-N-Out for dinner. Enough said.

This morning we had to be at the church at 6 AM to start getting ready and had pictures at 8. The wedding started at 10 and it was such a short ceremony. I absolutely HATE walking in heels and especially when people are looking at me, so I was so thankful the bridesmaids got to walk arm-in-arm down the aisle with a groomsmen. The reception was at a clubhouse type thing at a golf course and it was super pretty! I absolutely love weddings and this was a good one.

Now I’m here in Fullerton, one of my favorite little towns in Southern California. My old boss and his wife drove me back from the wedding and are graciously letting me hang out at their house for a few hours while I wait for another friend to pick me up and spend the night at her house. I am so grateful for their hospitality and the fact that I am getting to spend time with them. It is something I prayed for as I was coming here!

It is so weird not having a car here when I had one for the 4 years I went to Biola! I think it is already a test of me letting go of control of my life, my time, and my plans and surrendering them to God.

2 days till London!
