When I have been telling people lately about my upcoming move, usually the conversation goes something like this:
Person: What are you up to these days?
Me: Well I’m actually moving to Ireland in January.
Person: Wow, that’s so cool! Who are you going with?
Me: I’m going by myself.
Person: You are so brave! I could never do that.
Yes, I may be more adventurous than most people, but on my own, I am not brave. I could never do that either. BUT I have Jesus going with me. I know that when I have no friends or job yet, and when I’m freezing cold and just want to feel the sunshine, when I want to go to Sonic with Hilary, when I want to drive my car instead of take public transportation, when I want to be at home with my family but can’t….in all of those moments Jesus will be by my side. He has made me brave and he will make me brave. My move to Ireland may be a complete failure, but I know it will be an adventure with Jesus.
2 Corinthians 12:9: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
